Lead generation when you are the service

Yoga, dance, music, tutoring, therapy, consulting. One-to-one or a group of twenty, on Zoom or in a room. The common problem: a calendar full of people who booked and never showed.

Who this is for

If your time is the product, this is your page

The format barely matters. What matters is that a human has to turn up and deliver it.

Movement & fitness

Yoga, pilates, dance, martial arts, personal training. Studio, park or living room.

Music, art & skills

Instruments, singing, painting, languages, chess. Usually batch intakes with a fixed start.

Tutoring & academic support

One-to-one or small group, where the parent decides and the student attends.

Health & wellbeing

Nutrition, physiotherapy, counselling, therapy. High trust, long consideration.

Coaching & consulting

Career, business, life. Sold on a discovery call rather than a price list.

Online, offline or both

Online removes geography as a filter, which changes the whole account. More on that below.

Why these leads deceive

The cheapest enquiries here are usually the worst

Four reasons the dashboard looks excellent while the room stays empty.

Free attracts free

Give away enough and you fill every slot with people who intended to pay nothing.

Distance beats price

People commit to what they pass, not what they plan around. Six kilometres is usually fatal.

The timing doesn't fit

A 7am person will not join a 6pm batch. Almost nobody asks before the trial.

Motivation decays fast

Interest peaks at signup. Two silent days and the intention is gone.

So we optimize toward the trial that turns into a paying regular, not the cheapest signup available.

What we run

Four decisions that decide the account

  1. 01

Price the trial, don't give it away

A ₹99 first class or ₹499 starter week cuts enquiry volume sharply and lifts conversion further. A small payment is the cheapest qualification there is. Exception: a brand-new studio with empty classes, where volume and word of mouth matter more for the first few months.

  2. 02

Qualify on travel time and schedule

Tight radius rather than a net over the city. Preferred slot as a form field. Goal or programme interest, so the first message is specific. Separate campaigns per location if you run more than one.

  3. 03

Reply within the hour, not the day

Intent decays faster here than in any other category on this site. Instant notification, a same-hour message naming an actual class time, and a reminder the morning of. Most practitioners lose more people to slow follow-up than to price.

  4. 04

Report to the regular, not the lead

Cost per signup, show-up rate, signup-to-paying conversion, cost per acquired regular. Only the last one tells you whether the account works.

Selling online instead of in a room? Geography was doing your filtering for free - the offer, price point and qualifying questions have to do it instead.

Common questions

What practitioners ask

Free trial or paid trial?
Paid, usually, even a token amount. Free maximises signups and minimises commitment. The exception is a new practice with empty slots.
What should a client cost to acquire?
Work back from what they are worth. If someone stays six months at ₹3,000, they are worth ₹18,000 - and ₹1,500–2,500 to acquire is comfortable. Most people have never done this sum and judge the account on cost per lead instead, which tells them almost nothing.
Plenty of enquiries, nobody shows up.
Almost always follow-up speed or a missing reminder. Same-day contact, a specific time rather than "come anytime", and a nudge the morning of.
I teach on Zoom, not in a studio.
Then your strongest natural filter is gone. We replace it with price point, qualifying questions and a booking step that costs the person something - even if only effort.
Do you sell leads or lead lists?
No. Campaigns run inside your own ad account. Nothing goes to anyone else.
