Free attracts free
Give away enough and you fill every slot with people who intended to pay nothing.

Yoga, dance, music, tutoring, therapy, consulting. One-to-one or a group of twenty, on Zoom or in a room. The common problem: a calendar full of people who booked and never showed.

The format barely matters. What matters is that a human has to turn up and deliver it.
Yoga, pilates, dance, martial arts, personal training. Studio, park or living room.
Instruments, singing, painting, languages, chess. Usually batch intakes with a fixed start.
One-to-one or small group, where the parent decides and the student attends.
Nutrition, physiotherapy, counselling, therapy. High trust, long consideration.
Career, business, life. Sold on a discovery call rather than a price list.
Online removes geography as a filter, which changes the whole account. More on that below.
Why these leads deceive
Four reasons the dashboard looks excellent while the room stays empty.
Give away enough and you fill every slot with people who intended to pay nothing.
People commit to what they pass, not what they plan around. Six kilometres is usually fatal.
A 7am person will not join a 6pm batch. Almost nobody asks before the trial.
Interest peaks at signup. Two silent days and the intention is gone.
So we optimize toward the trial that turns into a paying regular, not the cheapest signup available.
What we run
Price the trial, don't give it away
A ₹99 first class or ₹499 starter week cuts enquiry volume sharply and lifts conversion further. A small payment is the cheapest qualification there is. Exception: a brand-new studio with empty classes, where volume and word of mouth matter more for the first few months.
Qualify on travel time and schedule
Tight radius rather than a net over the city. Preferred slot as a form field. Goal or programme interest, so the first message is specific. Separate campaigns per location if you run more than one.
Reply within the hour, not the day
Intent decays faster here than in any other category on this site. Instant notification, a same-hour message naming an actual class time, and a reminder the morning of. Most practitioners lose more people to slow follow-up than to price.
Report to the regular, not the lead
Cost per signup, show-up rate, signup-to-paying conversion, cost per acquired regular. Only the last one tells you whether the account works.
Selling online instead of in a room? Geography was doing your filtering for free - the offer, price point and qualifying questions have to do it instead.
